Testimonials

Harshid

Harshid is a young Indian-American man from Zimbabwe with Multiple Sclerosis and blindness.  Despite his disabilities, Hershey is an avid content creator and runs the YouTube channel for the Blind and Beyond Radio show.  He has an amazingly energetic personality and brightens the day of everyone he meets.   He has an amazing social network of people across all sectors.

Hershey uses the Cadence for technical work (he worked in IT before losing his vision) and so he can do a better job of content creation - mixing audio and video by feel on the Cadence.

Carson

Carson is a boy from a small rural town in Alabama.   He developed cancer and lost his vision and hearing.  His dad is a firefighter and his mom quit her job to stay home with Carson full time.

Carson is very gifted academically and is working towards becoming a video game programmer.   He has a great and quirky sense of humor and is always the positive one in the room even when everyone else is sad.

Carson uses the Cadence to learn computer programming, which is too difficult for him to try to do with just audio.   Carson wants to go to college - and using the Cadence he feels ready to succeed academically. His favorite activity with the Cadence is playing video games such as Minecraft.

Nicole

Nicole is a disabled woman living on her own in Florida.   She suffers from blindness as well as crippling arthritis and mobility issues.   Currently, she works a job that is difficult for her as she has trouble with travel and standing for long periods of time.

Nicole lives by herself and has very little family or friend support.    She uses a Cadence because it helps her as therapy for the arthritis in her fingers.  She dreams of getting a less physical technology-related job and is using the Cadence technology to achieve this.

Haley

Haley is a young woman who lost her vision due to cancer at age 24.   Now 26, she is struggling to readjust to her new life.   Before her loss she was an avid hunter and outdoor sports enthusiast.   Now she is shut-in and struggling with basic life skills.

Haley is bright, energetic, and a go-getter.   She wants to go to college and learn a new technical trade so she can better adjust to her new life.   Prior to using the Cadence, she had struggled to learn Braille for over 6 months using paper.   In one 20-minute session with the Cadence, she leaned the entire alphabet.

Haley uses the Cadence to develop her reading and independent living skills, and move forward with her life.  She is excited to sign up for college using the Cadence to help succeed.
